Happy Birthday, America! The VFW remembers the service and sacrifice of all patriots. Green Bay, WI. – July 4 marks the birth of our nation and with that a responsibility to remember that America’s first patriots risked everything to fight our War of Independence. July Fourth VFWOf the estimated 217,000 Americans who served during the eight-year war, more than 4,400 died in combat and almost 6,200 were wounded. Had they lost, all would have faced execution as traitors, and seized properties would have left their families destitute. On this 242nd Independence Day, the 1.7 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Auxiliary asks that all Americans remember the service and sacrifice of those who have gone before, as well as those servicemen and women who continue to protect every freedom and right our nation enjoys today. Memorial Day Parade is held in De Pere every year on the 4th Monday of May every year. Every year thousands of people line the streets to remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Every Wednesday from 3-8 our VFW gathers to serve adult beverages to patrons that attend the On Broadways Farmers Market which is on Broadway on the West side of Green Bay.
The red poppy has connected generations of veterans, service members and their families with civilians in remembering all those who have fallen. And for more than 75 years, the VFW's "Buddy"® Poppy program has honored those who have sacrificed by raising millions of dollars to support veterans' well-being.
Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! Our programs support our service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged and long after they return. Your tax-deductible donation will be immediately directed to the VFW programs where your support is most urgently needed.
2018 CHRISTMAS PARTY ANDUPDATE FOR GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITYTHIS is the FRIST time we have EVER opened our Christmas party to the public! Please, come out and join us for dinner and cash bar, this will be a buffet style dinner. Go ahead and bring the family out for a nice dinner! Bring and ugly sweater too if you want.
Cost: $20/plate (person) Paid the day of.
We will have dinner ready by 6 pm if you can come early to chat at the cash bar, by all means, do so.
